Our New Christmas Lists
Every year we think about how we can do better next year. Not how we can buy more or buy earlier, etc. We really try to focus on the true meaning of Christmas, the day our Jesus was born and how we should respect this blessed gift from God.
We believe that you should give freely all year long, not just around December 25. Not only gifts, but of your time also. My husband & I have prayed about this very earnestly! So, this year we are not buying gifts to be given on Christmas day. We are making an entirely new "want" list.
We are going to focus on experiences and time spent, together as a family and with others. Starting today, December 1st, we are making our lists and giving them to each other. Rules are nothing store bought if wanting something from someone. You can request something like..."to have Sebastian write and play a song just for me on his guitar", "help me make cookies," or "spend time with me doing my hobby". Also, can ask for a day of gift-making, for presents to give to neighbors, friends, etc.
I am excited to see what everyone will come up with! I know I am asking for a Lord of the Rings movie marathon and a Star Wars one too. I also added that just because it is on your list it doesn't guarantee that you will get it...
Maybe if I keep my list to just a few things I'll get my marathons...
